An easy, scenic 45 minutes drive inland from South Africa's most vibrant city, Cape Town, the iconic Pearl Valley Signature Golf Estate stands proudly amongst the vineyards of the legendary 300 year-old wine region and culinary capital of Franschhoek. The Jack Nicklaus designed championship course is set against the stunning backdrop of the Drakenstein Mountains and is one of the most visually spectacular golf courses in the world – and one of the most challenging in Africa.

Officially opened in November 2003, Pearl Valley Golf Estates was named ‘Best Golf Course of the Year' in 2005 and won a PMR Diamond Arrow Award in 2008, achieving the highest rating of any golf course in the Western Cape. Currently ranked 5th best course in South Africa by Golf Digest and home to the South African Open, the 2nd oldest Open in the world.

The 6,800 metre course has been designed with both prevailing winds in mind; the winter north-westerly and the summer south-easterly. All par 3s and par 5's play in different directions, ensuring a range of conditions during a round. The abundant and elegantly shaped bunkers account for 20,000 m² of the course – and typically for a Nicklaus signature course, they are shallow, long and not overly daunting. They are complemented by breathtaking water features including nine lakes, adding to the tranquil beauty of the course.

Club facilities include a 4,500 m² club house that provides the last word in luxury and exclusivity for members and their guests, offering restaurants and a bar, a gym and spa, as well as a golf shop. Overlooking the eighteenth hole, the sprawling glass and polished timber building presents a privileged vantage point from where the lie of the land can best be appreciated.
